Quince Pregnancy Style
I use Instagram and social media; this is a simple fact. I often ask, “Why do I use Instagram?” Furthermore, “Why do I have a blog? A personal online presence at all?”
“Who does it serve?”
“What value do I receive? Do I add?”
I do not wish to mindlessly engage in any form of online culture without remaining aware of its value. If there is no longer value to be experienced or created, it is time to shift my attention and energy.
I have loved sharing recent style posts on Instagram and my blog, specifically through partnerships. Growing and sustaining brand partnerships is a career goal I have had for years, and I feel genuine fulfillment and joy as these partnerships come to fruition.
And, it is also true a ‘style post’ does not add significant value to the world—in and of itself. A value-adding post, above all, is most important to me.
So, as I move forward, a vow I have made to myself is this:
As I continue to grow my brand partnerships, including my style posts, I will ensure they are value-adding.
Within this context, this means sharing more of my thought process behind styling my body—pregnant and not.
As I have styled my growing body, now ripe with darkened veins, increased stretched marks, and larger curves, I have learned how crucial it is to wear clothing that fits. I acknowledge this may sound obvious, but it is an approach to getting dressed I have resisted in late pregnancy. I recently wore a non-maternity dress for family photos, thinking it would allow me to feel more myself, and the exact opposite happened: I felt less myself, squeezed into a dress that was not meant for my body, and ultimately more insecure.
Wear clothing that fits.
Below, I have styled pieces from Quince that fit my larger body beautifully. Wearing each piece allows me to feel myself, comfortable (the ultimate luxury), and secure in how I exist in and present to the world.
My current picks are the Double-Faced Merino Wool Scarf Coat, Mongolian Cashmere Midi Sleeveless Sweater Dress, and Cotton Cashmere Ribbed Sleeveless Midi Dress.
