Alys Beach, Florida
In June, my family and I traveled to Alys Beach, Florida for a week beneath the sunshine and near the shore. Alys Beach creates ease and routine for families; it is small, quiet, safe, and full of children-centric activities. Any time Jared and I crave a predictable, easygoing getaway, we often pursue time in Alys Beach or a nearby neighborhood.
I last published a brief guide to Alys Beach in 2019—including several favorite restaurants in Rosemary Beach, a stone’s throw away. As parents, one favorite addition is Raw and Juicy, a healthy restaurant and market in the heart of Alys Beach that sits adjacent to an adorable, partially-shaded playground.
Below is a brief list of additional recommendations.

Recommended Shops
SummerStory | SummerStory carries Flamingo Estate products (an all-time favorite!) and a variety of incredible cookbooks, kitchenwares, and home items.
Krewe | Jared snagged this pair at Krewe’s Tiny House.
Sundog Books | This is located in Seaside, Florida, roughly 20 minutes from Alys Beach.
Recommended Items for Children
Wagon | We love this all-purpose wagon and use it often! Our cooler, beach tent, towels, and Sullivan fit nicely. I also have my eyes on this crossover wagon for a future investment.
Recommended Family Photographer
For the past two years, we have taken family photos with photographer Lucy Steiner. I highly recommend her. She photographs us at Grayton Beach State Park.
